Awaken the Mind

Often we are placed in a situation when a critical decision is necessary. In our modern American culture most of the time we have choices, this is what defines our freedom. And yet, with that freedom to choose, comes responsibility. Many times I find myself stuck, not knowing what to do in a situation. This is why I love the life coaching process and my coaches.

Jon J. Muth retells Tolstoy’s story “The Three Questions” in an illustrated children’s book. Muth creatively puts this literature piece into a setting that appeals to children. Muth also writes with a sophistication for adults to ponder. This story is in a sense a principle belief for many life coaches.

If you are not familiar with Tolstoy’s short story “The Three Questions” then visit the on-line link for a free reading. Also consider investing in the book created by Muth also titled “The Three Questions.”  I also encourage you to share this book with a child in your life.

The questions to ponder are: “What is the right time for every action? Who are the most important people? How do I know what is the most important thing to do?”

Consider a time each week, month, and season to answer the three questions for insight on your journey. If the mind knows the answers to these questions, I believe a person is awake to the most important things in life.

Awaken Body, Mind, and Spirit

Written by Kelly Eveleth on . Posted in General

The question I ask myself today is, “How awake am I in the Universe in which I live?”  The Disney story tellers imprinted an image of the birds singing to wake up the princess and assist her in the daily tasks. How many of us want that idyllic scene? Unfortunately, sometimes when I arise in the morning I am slow to awaken. If the air is too cold or the sun is not peeking into my space, then I am inclined to stay in that half asleep, half awake state. I am not motivated to initiate the day. I wake up feeling more like the lazy step-mother that delegates the chores and nothing is quite good enough. So, this is where I get stuck. I don’t feel like a princess and I don’t want to be the step-mother.

I am on a mission. I want to truly know what resources strengthen the spirit so that my physical body awakens efficiently, my mind maintains clarity, and my spirit moves in a balanced flow. I need the sun’s light energy for me to awaken my positive energy. The Universe’s physical movement impacts my daily being.  I believe that every person also needs to know what awakens their body, mind, and spirit. And, these resources will have common elements and are interconnected. Throughout these posts are the resources I am discovering on my journey.

Various people, books, visual media, and art provide me insights to my sense of being in our Universe. My intention is to provide connections to these resources. The collection may appear eclectic yet they have a subtle theme. A diversity of resources is needed for healing the human spirit and supporting our journey. Many people participate in a community with a desire to awaken our consciousness. Through the awakening process we grow into a healthier state of being.

And now I ask you, “How do you describe the wakefulness in which you live today?”
