Awaken the Voice of Your Heart

When you don’t know the answer to your own question, who do you seek? As children we seek the nearest adult in most situations. At school we ask teachers or peers for help. At home we find a family member. When we become adults we sometimes struggle finding that person to trust.

During a time of change and challenges I discovered the value of putting words on the page. I sat and quieted the monkey chatter in my brain using a writing process a friend shared. Eventually I recognized that I had within me a strong voice that was not my Ego. This voice did not always give me specific answers to my questions. I did receive a quiet assurance. I learned that this voice was the voice of my Creator who spoke through my heart, not my logical mind. I included a poem I wrote in 2005 during one of my moments of quieting the monkey chatter. My hope is that as individuals move forward along the journey, time is taken to listen to the voice of the Creator.

I challenge you to find a process to quiet the monkey chatter that comes from the Ego. When this occurs, what does your heart tell you during your quiet moments? Consider writing out those messages in a journal. If you have not yet found a way to quiet the monkey chatter, feel free to contact me for guidance.

Key Question: What does your heart tell you during your quiet moments?

Awaken My Spirit

I’ve been walking in the wilderness, not hearing

The Voice calling me. I knew the Voice but

That which was once clear had become cloudy. The path

I began had disappeared and I knew not where I

Was going. A day came upon which I could struggle no more and I felt

myself

Giving in to the Voice. Where am I? I asked.

Who am I to be?

I’ve been walking in the wilderness, experiencing

Life as one of the chosen. I knew stones and

Thorns were necessary but still I stumbled not asking for the

Healing only the Voice could give. Without the strength

To continue I crawled to the Voice in my weakness.

I want the healing, humbly I called.

I am here, abide in me, answered the Voice.

I’ve been walking in the wilderness, no longer

Wanting to be there. I knew there was a

Light but it was so dim. The Voice spoke clearly

When I opened up within. The Voice drew out the

Spirit releasing the pain and truths. I don’t want to

Fall, I cry. I am tired and don’t want the pain and

Heaviness anymore.

I’ve been walking in the wilderness, finally

Knowing I am not alone. I knew there was strength

In others. I don’t know where to go, I explained. And,

The Voice led me to them who do. The truths continue

During this journey. There is a renewing as

I find the path again. Strong roots share their understanding

And wisdom. I draw upon their discernment

As my spirit awakens.

Awaken the Body

Written by Kelly Eveleth on . Posted in General

Do you ever have those days when your environment is the same as yesterday and you felt physically well yesterday and then that day you simply feel yucky? It is like the smooth path suddenly becomes rocky. Well, our bodies have a chemistry which has been explained in different ways and I have a great resource for you as you take care of your physical body.

During the past 10 years I visited a variety of people in the medical field. Not all those who are employed in the medical field can I label as healers of the body. Every person needs to find a resource that works well for them as our bodies are clearly not the same. I am a believer in holistic healing. Science has provided us with amazing information but what is most important is the interpretation of that information and how one applies the knowledge gained. Many resources point to the necessity of chemical balance in the body. With guidance and attentive care we can manage the chemicals in our body. Do I experience yucky days? Yes. The difference between now and earlier in my life is that I have the knowledge, tools, and motivation to change most of the causes of those yucky feeling days.

Your question for today, “Are you living with a physically balanced body? What can you do to experience a healthy body?”

Awaken Body, Mind, and Spirit

Written by Kelly Eveleth on . Posted in General

The question I ask myself today is, “How awake am I in the Universe in which I live?”  The Disney story tellers imprinted an image of the birds singing to wake up the princess and assist her in the daily tasks. How many of us want that idyllic scene? Unfortunately, sometimes when I arise in the morning I am slow to awaken. If the air is too cold or the sun is not peeking into my space, then I am inclined to stay in that half asleep, half awake state. I am not motivated to initiate the day. I wake up feeling more like the lazy step-mother that delegates the chores and nothing is quite good enough. So, this is where I get stuck. I don’t feel like a princess and I don’t want to be the step-mother.

I am on a mission. I want to truly know what resources strengthen the spirit so that my physical body awakens efficiently, my mind maintains clarity, and my spirit moves in a balanced flow. I need the sun’s light energy for me to awaken my positive energy. The Universe’s physical movement impacts my daily being.  I believe that every person also needs to know what awakens their body, mind, and spirit. And, these resources will have common elements and are interconnected. Throughout these posts are the resources I am discovering on my journey.

Various people, books, visual media, and art provide me insights to my sense of being in our Universe. My intention is to provide connections to these resources. The collection may appear eclectic yet they have a subtle theme. A diversity of resources is needed for healing the human spirit and supporting our journey. Many people participate in a community with a desire to awaken our consciousness. Through the awakening process we grow into a healthier state of being.

And now I ask you, “How do you describe the wakefulness in which you live today?”
